About

Several years ago, I began my career as a skinny, short-tempered ER physician working crazy hours in a busy emergency room, fixing broken bones and stitching severed tongues back on. The constant adrenaline rush was exciting, but the idea of saving the world just one person at a time wasn’t, so I moved back home to work in the Sudanese civil service while studying part-time for a masters in public health from the University of Liverpool.

There I took part in health policy research, organized conferences and workshops, edited newsletters and reports, taught undergraduate and postgraduate students and edited the country’s national health policy. I also made documentary films and protested against government corruption, because what is life without a little excitement?

As my career evolved and my writing evolved and grew with it, I found myself helping researchers get published in high-end journals, organizations complete their reports and policies, communication companies cover specialized advisory boards, and health promotion campaigns deliver targeted messages to the public to cut down their salt intake so that people don’t drop dead of a heart attack.

Here you will find samples of my work, the services I provide, and blog posts related to health, careers, and wellbeing. If you see something that catches your eye and would like to know more, get in touch!
